To illustrate just one of the principles, consider the last, placing common mission ahead of personal interest, especially when its seems least natural to do so. This precept is expressed in our oft-used phrases of "servant" or "selfless" leadership, and it is well captured in a U.S. Marine Corps dictum: "The officer eats last." In business, Jim Collins makes it one of his defining qualities for those who lead their companies "from good to great."

Networking will help build up your contact list, plus make you more recognizable in your market. There are 2 types of events, high value and low value. If you have had a few bad experiences networking, you might have inadvertently been attending the latter. There are a few things you can do to make sure you’re not wasting your time and only attending high value events:
The first thing to do (after you decide what you want to sell, of course) is choose a fabulous, memorable business name that no one else is using. You can conduct a corporate name search to make sure it’s not already in use. Once you’ve chosen the name, register it. (If you form an LLC or corporation, this will happen automatically in the state where you file your paperwork.)

(Again, while you don’t necessarily need to make this final purchase, doing so may provide even more information regarding the true value of your competitors’ products or services. This can not only help you further develop your own sales funnel, but also allow you to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of your competitors’ offer — and make the necessary improvements to your own offering.)

Google Analytics – You need to set up Google Analytics on your website. This free tool enables you to collect data about how visitors interact with your website, who they are, where they are coming from and the actions they take. Even if you don’t interpret this information yourself you will want to start collecting it to build your dataset. You can’t optimize what you don’t know.

USA Swimming’s background check requirement is designed to deter individuals who should not be working with athletes from ever applying for membership. Additionally, it serves to identify any unsuitable criminal history of those individuals who do apply for membership. Like previously mandated USA Swimming safety and education requirements, the background check program is another layer of protection for athletes in our sport.

2.  Take a copy of the Online Content Only certificate and the in-water skills checklist to the pool for the skills review with the lifeguard instructor. Review the skills with the instructor, sign the checklist, have the instructor sign it, and then send both the checklist and online certificate to your LSC registrar. The earlier of the two expiration dates will determine the STSC credential expiration date.
