Great post – thank you :) I’m in the process of building my first website-based online course using Optimize Press – steep learning curve but I’m up for the challenge! The only membership site I personally use is Brian Johnson’s philosopher’s notes. He is a stunning example of focus and achievement – his content production rate is crazy and he offers something for every type of learner plus lots of free stuff – truly inspiring :) You can have a nose here: http://bit.ly/1POj5Ag

So if you are able to gain anything from an eCommerce audit it should be to understand what problems are causing your website to lose sales. The best way to perform these audits is to dive into your analytics to get a good understanding of your traffic’s behavior and how it relates back to your site’s design and page architecture. This can take some experience in understanding this data and might be more of a project than you are hoping for, so the next best option is to use our eCommerce Site Checklist Template to see if your site is following best practices.
If it sounds a whole lot easier to just have us perform an audit on your site or your client’s site… you’re in luck! We provide a free eCommerce site audit to those interested how to increase optimize their store for sales. If you are curious where you site is performing well and which areas are doing poorly, go ahead and request your Free eCommerce Website Audit here. I find it clear and concise but some of the steps are not instinctive for newbies like myself so I'm stuck searching and learning and sometimes wasting time for little details that I'm sure are just mishaps or a lack of experience on my part regarding terminology… I hope I'm not offending anyone, I love the list but now I'm a little lost as to where I find my answers. I was suppose to launch 5 days ago and I really need this.
Realize a couple of key facts: A) the prices for e-commerce software have fallen, so you don’t need to spend a fortune unless your needs are complicated, and B) many of today’s e-commerce packages include a full range of tools in one package, from an inventory management system to marketing tools. Many of today’s merchants prefer this “all-in-one” approach because it makes life simpler.
Of course, you will ‘sell’ this offer with professional sales copy, some great headlines, and maybe even some bullet points. But the general idea here is to introduce yourself to this new cold traffic visitor, let them know what you are about, let them know that you can help them, and convince them that the first step to solving their problem is to opt-in to your free offer.
WordPress is the most sought after blogging platform, and it comes as no surprise that many would want to build their membership site directly around their WordPress installation. Although WordPress by default offers membership features, there is still need for integration of payment systems and other features that make a membership site what it is supposed to be. Great thing about DigitalAccessPass is that it also works for non-WordPress sites. The list of features from DAP extends in the hundreds of different categories, and it would be hard to mention them all here, please click this link to explore the fully on the official DAP site.
