Again, unless your research makes it clear that your audience is ready and waiting to join your program, don’t produce your entire membership program just yet. Starting small and creating just enough top-quality content to keep charter members happy, then seeking their feedback before moving on to the next stage of production will help save you both time and effort in the long run.
Your business plan lays it all out. It details what you sell and where your profit comes from; how much inventory you’ll have on hand and where you’ll store it. It lays out your return policy — and you’ll need one of those. Most important, your business plan details your total start-up cost, from your ad campaign to Web designer to monthly server fees.

EasyMemberPro is popular among marketing enthusiasts who like to sell marketing courses and video related course content. The basic set of features include content dripping. It has a spectacular affiliate program that will let you promote your products and services through your own community members. It also gets the ability to secure all your download links and setup multiple membership groups and levels. Moreover, you can offer special one-time offers and integrate payment processors like ClickBank and PayPal. While the code base is locked for the public eye, there are enough features to compliment full accessibility over the way your membership site looks and feels.
The program runs $11.99/month, $28.75/quarter or $108/year. I’d be curious to see how many people take the quarterly option. I know in my own business, when I offered a quarterly it just didn’t work. Everybody went for the annual plan. Plus, an annual plan would increase lifetime customer value quite a bit. I don’t know the numbers internally, but I’d probably want to test getting rid of the quarterly option and see how it tests out.
Ever heard the saying, “If you fail to plan, then you’re planning to fail?” That saying definitely applies to running a membership site, which is why you’ll want to plan out your content creation and delivery calendar at least six to twelve months ahead of time. Fortunately, you can make the whole process a lot easier by using this content calendar checklist!
The last membership site software platform on our list comes from MembersGear. A group of guys who have built the kind of software that’s easy to use, but delivers on results. MembersGear is proud to advertise their affordable pricing plan. This makes their membership script available to those who don’t have a huge budget to work with. Although the price is one of the lowest on the market, security standards seem to be some of the highest. There’s an affiliate program that you can use to promote your own products with the help of your existing members.
Be aware that your URL affects your search engine ranking, so if you want to be found for “shoe,” it’s a good idea to fit “shoe” into your domain name. One way to do this is to use your brand name along with a keyword term. So MillerShoe tends to work better than FantasticShoe.com. (Which is why MillerShoe is taken, but FantasticShoe is still available.)
You probably have a rough idea for the topic of your membership site—otherwise you probably wouldn’t be reading this guide to launching a new membership program. However, even if you have a great idea for your project, it’s wise to invest some time in validating that idea. After all, it would be a shame to put in all the work involved in launching a high-quality membership site only to discover there’s no market or audience for your project.
Our checklists and checklist templates are licensed for personal use only. However, to avoid a bunch of emails, I will also say that I am okay with you doing almost anything with these checklists except posting the checklist (or anything you have created using the checklist template) on the internet or selling it. That includes permission to print and distribute as many paper copies of your checklist as you need. Don't remove the copyright or hyperlinks that I've included in the spreadsheet, though.
